Simply Perfect Hummus Board with VeggoFix Chicky Sticks

Expecting friends and family for dinner? Or maybe you’re throwing a party? Hummus is the ultimate crowd-pleaser, so a picture perfect vegan charcuterie board will be always a great idea for you and your guests.

Here is a simple and stress-free way of making delicious hummus served with vegan chicken sticks, carrots, cucumbers, and radishes. The ‘most complicated’ thing you’ll have to think of is choosing the board. 🙂 Which can be a good looking cutting board or some fancy vintage bread board or just a plain one.  

This home-made hummus board is rich in plant proteins, as the meat free sticks are made from VEGGOFIX CHICKY high protein mince and the chickpeas are known for being protein rich.

Hummus Board with VeggoFix Chicky Sticks

recipe for 4 – 6 servings

Ingredients

   Vegan chicken sticks: 200 g VEGGOFIX CHICKY mix, 250 ml water, 1-2 tbsp of oil

  Hummus:  1 can of chickpeas not-drained (cca. 400 g), 1 crushed garlic clove, juice from 1/2 small lemon, 1 tbsp tahini, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp salt

Garnish: cumin seeds, finely sliced radish and green onions, parsley, olive oil

  Veggie sticks: carrots, cucumbers, radishes (as many as you want or need)

Preparation

  Add the ingredients for hummus in a food processor or a blender (even one for smoothies works well). Mix them well and if the consistency is too thick, add warm water until the hummus is smooth and creamy. Taste and add more salt, lemon juice or tahini if you prefer. 

Mix 200g VeggoFix Chicky Mince with 250ml of water and 1-2tbsp of oil. Canola oil, olive oil or sunflower oil all work well. There is no need to wait for the mixture to bind and soften. Shape 4 big patties right away after mixing. Fry for 6-12 min or bake for 15-20 min. For best results, flip the patties when they are golden brown. 

  Let the hummus and the vegan patties cool for a 5 to 10 minutes. Then slice the patties in thin sticks and do the same with carrots and cucumbers. Slice the radishes in four (leave the tail, it’s easier to dip them in the hummus).  Put hummus in bowls, swirl the top with the back of a spoon and season it with olive oil, cumin seeds, and finely chopped radish,  green onions, and parsley.
